Dear Friends,
Dear Friends,
This week, I sent a request to Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the 65 Project, a dark money activist group attempting to disbar lawyers who represented President Trump. Lawfare and activist bullies like the 65 Project have no place in our country.
I am committed to working alongside the Trump Administration to restore fairness and equality to our society. I believe shining a light on these dangerous hyper-partisan groups is a strong step in the right direction. Sincerely,
|

U.S. intelligence predicts a Chinese invasion of Taiwan by 2027, just two short years away. The fall of Taiwan would ensure China corners the world’s market for semiconductor chips—used in everything from cars to smartphones to satellites. A victory here for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would also no doubt embolden the authoritarian regime’s expansionist ambitions elsewhere.
The CCP has made it abundantly clear that its goal is to challenge U.S. global dominance and undermine the West politically, economically, and militarily. It’s no secret that China’s military expansion is proceeding at an alarming rate, even after you account for Beijing’s propaganda campaigns. Without a robust navy, the U.S. will be unable to project power in the Indo-Pacific and maintain the capability to deter CCP belligerence. In fact, while the U.S. Navy currently holds a technological advantage in terms of the ships and weapons systems at its disposal, China’s navy currently holds a four-to-one advantage in terms of ships deployed to the region. The United States would likely struggle to replace the loss of even a portion of its fleet should it become involved in a hot conflict with China in the near future.
How do we prevent this bleak scenario? By restoring America's defense industrial base now, before it's too late.

SB 2: Misconceptions and My Vote
As some may know, the “School Choice Bill”, Senate Bill 2, passed out of the Senate this past Wednesday, and will now be moving over to the Texas House. I was proud to vote for SB 2, as it will have a significant impact on the opportunity for and outcomes of education in this great state. This is a much-needed step towards more parent empowerment and involvement when it comes to their child’s education.
However, there is a lot of misunderstanding about the bill; misunderstanding has sparked a lot of opposition and disagreement with the policy. Unfortunately, most of this misconception comes from false and misleading charts and documents that have been carefully crafted to incite emotional opposition to children and their parents wanting the best education environment. These charts have been broadly perpetuated online and in the media.
My office has received a great volume of calls over the past weeks, with constituents and non-constituents alike voicing their opposition based on these misconceptions and urging me to vote no on this legislation.

Thursday, April 17, 2025:
This week, the House took up several priority education bills. These included HB 6, which empowers our public school teachers when it comes to classroom management, and HB 100, which ensures Texas public schools use high quality educational materials. HB 6 and HB 100 will now be sent to the Senate for further consideration.
School Funding
On Wednesday, the Texas House passed HB 2, the public school finance bill. HB 2 is a historic school funding bill – the largest investment in public education in state history. HB 2 supports our students and educators by:
The basic allotment is not the total funding a district receives – it is the starting point for many other calculations that go into school funding. Because of the funding calculations in HB 2, all ISDs in District 112 will see an increase in funding. I am very proud to have co-authored and voted for this bill.
SB 2 - Educational Savings Accounts
The House also passed SB 2, which creates an Educational Savings Account (ESA) program. After careful consideration and a great deal of input from the district, I made the decision to co-sponsor and vote for SB 2. SB 2 will provide options for Texas parents and students. The House made several changes to SB 2 as it was passed in the Senate. The Texas House’s ESA plan provides carefully considered safeguards which balance accountability for taxpayer dollars and private school autonomy. First, the bill prioritizes students who need ESAs the most – children with disabilities and children from low-income families. Children with disabilities will be eligible to receive their full entitlement up to $30,000. Children without disabilities would receive 85% of the per-student funding for public schools, estimated around $10,000. These funds empower parents who know their child’s needs to find the best academic environment for their child. Furthermore, under SB 2, ESA money may only be spent on approved expenses from approved vendors. This includes tuition, required books, and required technology. Purchases are held accountable as the money is transferred directly from a student’s account, managed by the state, to the educational vendor. This prevents misuse of funds and ensures funding used for tuition can only be used at accredited private schools. Additionally, students using ESAs are required to take a norm-referenced assessment yearly, ensuring academic progression. The ESA plan put forward in SB 2 is comprehensive, well thought out, and works with HB 2 to provide record school funding and important educational options that will greatly benefit Texas students.
School Psychologists
On Tuesday, I was proud to lay out HB 2598 in the Committee on Public Education. This bill was brought to me by Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs) from our district. HB 2598 updates the title of “Licensed Specialist in School Psychology” to the more commonly used “School Psychologist.” School Psychologists help parents and teachers in many ways, including navigating the IEP process. The title change helps clear up the confusion many parents experience when trying to find these services. I am proud to work to make sure every student has the support they need to succeed.
Fee Waiver Bills
I laid out HB 3976 this week in the Committee on Higher Education. This bill would waive license renewal fees for instructors in high demand fields. These fields include nurses, electricians, plumbers, and bilingual educators. This will help clear a barrier for those who are willing to share their expertise with tomorrow’s workforce. These educators provide pathways to meaningful, high-paying careers. As Chair of the Committee on Trade, Workforce, and Economic Development, this issue is incredibly important to me. I am proud to put forward this legislation.
HB 1268 – Technology & Innovation Program
I authored HB 1268 to help leverage federal dollars with a state matching program to provide funding to small technology businesses across Texas. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) provides grants through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs to start-ups and small businesses across all technology sectors to promote technological innovation and increase product commercialization. This legislation passed the Texas House this week and is on its way over to the Senate for their consideration.

School Funding
On Wednesday, the Texas House passed HB 2, the public school finance bill. HB 2 is a historic school funding bill – the largest investment in public education in state history. HB 2 supports our students and educators by:
- Increasing the Basic Allotment to $6,555 per student and ties any future increase automatically to the growth of property values.
- Allotting $1.5 billion in new special education funding, including funding for special education support staff and individualized education program Individualized Education Program (IEP) evaluations.
- Providing automatic increases in teacher pay as the Basic Allotment grows.
- Incentivizing high-performing teachers by setting aside $750 million in extra incentive pay
- Providing expanded pathways to teacher certification.
- Providing increased support for Pre-K education, ensuring we take care of even the littlest Texans.
The basic allotment is not the total funding a district receives – it is the starting point for many other calculations that go into school funding. Because of the funding calculations in HB 2, all ISDs in District 112 will see an increase in funding. I am very proud to have co-authored and voted for this bill.

Angie is a very nice lady whom you can warm up to very easily. I doubt you could find a better friend.
That being said, if you are a conservative, she is not going to represent you well in the Texas House. She is however going to do a better job than anyone the Democrats will run against her. Personally, just about every time I ask her to represent me as a conservative on important issues, she will vote the other way.
It looks like she is more interested in getting re-elected by cuddling up with the money broker elites in the "uniparty" than she is in representing her base. Some refer to GOP representatives who engage in this type of conduct as RINO Republicans (Republicans in Name Only). Until we can get a conservative elected to represent us on the Republican side, we have to settle for backing her in the general elections. As someone who would much prefer to have a conservative represent us in our district, I am calling for anyone who is a conservative and will listen to and represent their base, to step up and run against her in the next Primary.

![]() Rowlett Mayor divisive Blake Margolis continues to embarrass the city, this time by engaging in a petty fight against a local church as a voting location.
His ongoing nonsense makes it look like he is competing to be the worst Mayor in Rowlett's history. It appears he may have qualified. First Liberty - Jorge Gomez: City officials in Rowlett, Texas don’t want Freedom Place Church to serve as an early voting location. What’s more, the city is trying to shut down the church. Last week, officials sent a letter threatening to revoke the church’s certificate of occupancy, claiming it had been “issued in error.” This would force the congregation to close its doors within 10 days. For the second year in a row, Freedom Place Church was chosen by election officials to be Dallas County’s only early voting site in Rowlett. Election officials said the church meets all the legal requirements to be a voting location. However, in an email to other city officials last September, Rowlett Mayor Robert Margolis said, “Rowlett City Council will not allow voting to occur in any church building. That’s not where voting belongs, and especially when the Pastor of this specific church has endorsed a candidate who will be on the ballot in November.” GO HERE to read more. |
Voting at Church: Why a City Wants to Shut Their Doors.

Divisive Rowlett Mayor Blake Margolis appears angry over Dallas County Elections awarding early voting location to a Rowlett church.
Intervenes to Take it Away from the Church.
That was our headline from around this time last year.
OOPS: It's September of 2024 and the Mayor is at it again!
As a reminder, the following is an example of the stink he created back then:

Why is he (whom this sight now refers to as divisive Blake) so opposed to elections being held in centers of faith? There are over 65 faith based voting centers in Dallas County. (Go HERE to see Dallas County approved voting locations as of 9/5/23). So what is our Mayor's real beef with faith based organizations?
If you view this video from a recent city council meeting, you will see the Mayor makes the argument that elections should not be held in faith based locations. |

Divisive Blake's bias appears to be very transparent against people of faith. He makes a reference to Muslem locations but if you look at the list, you will see the County includes them as well as churches. Take a look for yourself and you decide.

To Unite Our City, D E I had to D I E.
Great job by the majority of our city council members who on May 7th. The council members who brought an end to this commission should be praised for helping the city get past the very divisive and destructive agenda DEI brought to our city.
DEI has been turning into just another liberal smoke and mirrors campaign where advocates claim the objective is for advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In practice a more accurate meaning of DEI could be Division, Evil, and Insanity.
The "D" focuses on what divides us rather than on what unites us.
The "E" represents Equity which is about equal outcome rather than equal opportunity.
The "I" is all about advancing people based on things other than merit and is the enforcement arm of Diversity.

Rowlett Mayor Blake Margolis shows blatant disrespect for our U.S. Congressman Lance Gooden.
Falls far short of his duty once again as Mayor to unite us, rather than to divide us.
Falls far short of his duty once again as Mayor to unite us, rather than to divide us.
It is important for Rowlett citizens to have our Congressman’s support but when the city’s Mayor refuses to provide a friendly environment for our Congressman, it hurts all our citizens.
With this in mind, I am calling attention to divisive Blake's inappropriate representation of Rowlett citizens and I am calling on him to issue a public apology to Congressman Gooden's office. It would serve him well to get this done right away because it's the right thing to do and this issue isn't going away until he does. It's extremely important to a free and fair election that the Mayor provide the Congressman and his staff the same equal and fair treatment as he does with all other candidates. We are pulling for our Mayor to get these types of behavior behind him and to move forward in a mature, righteous and inclusive manner in the days to come. To our Mayor's credit, he showed up and was cordial to our Congressman during his visit to Rowlett on September 6th. Steve McDaniel - Precinct 3967 Chairman |
I have come across this screenshot of a conversation from divisive Blake, to a representative for U.S. Congressman Gooden's office, Jennifer Alden.
This behavior does not represent the City of Rowlett well from our Mayor. It appears that he feels like if someone dares to ask questions about and/or investigates the 2020 election, they are "irresponsible and anti-democratic" and don't "respect our country's Constitution and electoral process." I'm not sure what type of Democracy he is referring to, but in America we should always be free to ask questions, challenge, and investigate elections.
The biggest problem here is not about who is right about this subject. What is most concerning is that this type of behavior is divisive. Much like the divisive leadership Blake is providing as the City of Rowlett continues to promote the LGBTQ+ agenda, through which the transgender wing of the group is largely responsible for much of the ongoing sexual child mutilation that is taking place in our country today, and creating a pathway for men to intrude on women's sports. For the city to encourage this type of behavior is both crazy and evil. These are behaviors and decisions that do not help our city or bring us together as a community.
Free speech and making our elections fair is essential to our Democratic Republic, so that means it's important to ask questions and investigate. It's okay for divisive Blake to have his opinions but he must be fair and inclusive when fulfilling his duties as Mayor.
